Juan Sumulong Masonic Lodge No. 169

In 1962, several distinguished Masons residing in Rizal conceived of the idea of establishing a lodge in Taytay, Rizal for the brethren residing in Taytay and the neighboring towns of Cainta, Antipolo, Teresa, Morong and Binangonan. On October 20, 1962 these Masons, led by Angelo S. Baylon, of Quezon City Lodge No. 122, Florencio Ilagan, Eulogio Eusebio, and Exequiel Angeles held an organizational meeting and elected the first officers of the lodge.

On March 29, 1963, the first meeting under dispensation was held at the Juan Sumulong Memorial High School in Taytay. The Grand Lodge granted a charter in April 1963, and the lodge was formally constituted on September 28, 1963, with Grand Master Pedro Gimenez presiding and Senator Lorenzo Sumulong as Guest of Honor.

Today, the lodge meets at the Capitol Masonic Temple, having transferred from its original place of meeting in Taytay.
